SEPC 2013

 The 2013 Southeastern Phycological Colloquy will be held at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Dauphin Is. Alabama, on 27-28 September

Registration and contributed presentation forms are available HERE.  As indicated on the form, the hard copy registration information and check should be sent to Juan Lopez-Bautista at the address provided but information on presentations (oral vs. poster, title, authors, etc.) should be sent by e-mail to Chuck Amsler (amsler@uab.edu). The deadline for both is 13 September 2013. Fees are $47 for students and $70 for all others. The fees include the mixer and dinner on Friday plus breakfast, lunch, breaks, mixer, and  dinner on Saturday. Accompanying persons rates are also available (see registration form).

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab is located on the eastern end of Dauphin Island, a barrier island approximately three miles from the mainland and thirty-five miles south of Mobile, Alabama. Maps and driving directions are HERE. The closest airport for commercial airlines is in Mobile.

Schedule overview:

Friday 27 September

  • 3:00 – 5:00 PM, Registration in DISL Administration Building Conference Room
  • 5:00 – 6:30 PM, Mixer and Registration in Galathea Hall or lower picnic area (weather dependent)
  • 6:30 PM Dinner

Saturday 28 September

  • Morning: Breakfast , Contributed Oral Presentations
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon: Contributed Oral Presentations followed by Poster Session and Mixer
  • 6:30 PM, dinner followed by After Dinner Talk

Housing will be available in the Sea Lab dorms ($20/night double occupancy; with a possibility for $40/night single; see details on registration form). You must bring your own linens

 

Individuals wishing to stay in hotels must make their own reservations. Dauphin Island has only one small hotel: Gulf Breeze Motel, 1512 Cadillac Avenue, Dauphin Island, AL 36528 (251) 861-7344.
